Inspired by the Baroque period, this painting portrays an aged philosopher contemplating the origins of the cosmos--stars, galaxies, and life itself. The 'Flower of Life' symbol at the bottom center alludes to these themes. The concept was first explored as a small ink drawing in my sketchbook.
